a new beginning; k h r o n o s
Sleek, shimmering crystal rose into an arc in the bitter winter air. Plodding down, drop by drop, the biting cold shower rejoined with the greater mass and was one large body again. A splash, again, was erupted toward the heavens as the offender plunged into the unfrozen pool once more. His pelt of soft gray radiance clung to the ell of his muscular bodice, plastered against his back and pistons. Satellites perked forward in anticipation, he allowed his jaw to drop, and a grin form at the edges of his maw. He was shameless in his actions, graceful in the way he moved through the water, and happy to be somewhere that he wouldn't be chased off.
The brute was worry-free, and he wouldn't have it any other way. He was slowly, but surely, placing the horrors of his past behind him. The events from his previous home were no small thing to forget, and while thinking about them brought him pain and remorse, they were excruciatingly difficult to ignore, and trying to do so was at the expense of his energy and willpower. It had often turned out that trying to shut out his past caused him uncounted nights without rest, and a nostalgic ail to bring him down farther.
Now, as he played in the chilly water, he couldn't think of those events. His concentration was on the sound of each individual droplet that followed his lunges out over the surface of the pool as they once again hit the broken surface of the shallow depth. It didn't seem like long, until the drake was exiting the water for the final time that night. There was a harsh breeze nipping at his soaking wet bodice. The cold didn't bother him in most cases, but he was smarter than to let his internal temperatures drop too low, and he knew that could happen quickly in the water. He stood by the soppy, slushy edge of the pond and shook the water off of his pelt. The droplets landed in the light blanket of snow that carpeted the ground around his over-sized pads, and he walked a few feet from the waters edge to lie down in a patch of moonlight. He knew he would enjoy it here, and for the first time in a while, he experienced no trouble with falling into a much needed, and well-deserved rest filled with dreams of sunrises, sunsets, and all the beautiful skies that came between the two.

Muscles tensed beneath the perfect black pelt, large black feathered wings stretched out, reaching up towards the sky to make herself look much larger then she was. Relaxing them a bit, she shook out her pelt, sighing as the black and red female took in the cold winter air. Piercing red eyes scanned the area, nothing. Lifeless it seemed. Wings lowered, relaxed more now. The frigid air clinging to her pelt. Seeming to break its way through her thick winter coat. Chills ran down her spine, forcing her whole body to tremble.
Catching the scent of another, she paused. Wing raised up again in defense, despite having a daughter, Sonja was without a mate. He left her a while back, and the thoughts still drilled into her mind. Causing her often times depression. That of which she refused to let others see of course. Making her way over to the stranger, she nodded to him. Wings set to a defensive state. Ears placed on top of her head, holding herself proudly as she always had and always would.
"Hello there stranger. Name's Sonja. And yours?" she told him with a sharp nod. Slender frame tense, large wings frayed out. Being unsure of who he was or what he would do, made her this way. Relaxing a little bit, she waited for his response. Mind racing with the thoughts of what would occur next.
OOC: it is winter, btw -points to weather side table- lol

The Wind blew the air around him, and he raised his nose, catching the scent of two wolves. Neither of them he knew, or had ever encounter. Knowing and Meeting were two different things, two very different things. Sin rose onto his paws and stretched, his sabers coming down out of his mouth, curving into a razor sharp edge. Not that he used them often, well, at least not in fights. He had a handle on his temper, thanks to a friend of his. A close friend.
Sin began toward the scents, his coal black fun sticking out against the white snow. He could be seen, which was something that made him jumpy. He didnt like being so visible, but he had to make do. The other wolves came into view, another Pure black wolf, apparently named Sonja, and yet another, brown wolf. All three of them stuck out against the snow, which calmed Sin down slightly.
[red] "My Name is Sincarla, pleasure to meet you."[/red] He said, bowing his head slightly. Kindness and courtesy were the best way to keep others from being mad at you, and therefore to avoid a fight. Fights led to killing, and killing to pain and guilt, something that Sin hated to feel himself.

OOC: oops, sorry about the season thing! I didn't notice that. I actually modified my original post to make it winter. Same situation though, so posts are still good [bg=162200][atrb=border,0,table][atrb=width,450,table]
What was that? The drakes head rose from his sleep. He had been awoken by the hint of another approaching him. The sound he had heard was very mild, hardly noticeable to some. It was the whisper of a step, masked in the slight crunch of the thin layer of snow that carpeted the ground. Again! The baron heard it once more, surely someone was approaching. He extended his pillars until his dusty brown and charcoal-gray bodice was supported up off of the ground. Risen up, he shook the few flecks of snow out of his full pelt and stood attentive, his black-lined ears perked forward in awareness. He stood his ground, unsure of what would happen when he found himself confronted with this stranger.
When the femme came into his view, he lowered his front and narrowed his striking green oculars. She appeared large before him, grand obsidian wings towered above her back. Hackles raised on the baron, concerned of the newcomers tense and somewhat threatening stance. The full moons light reflected off the frozen ponds surface and captured the crystals glare. This sheen, this kind of glow was nothing new to the brute, as he himself seemed to give off a certain aura at night.
"Hello Sonja," he started "my name is Khronos." His guard remained on edge in the midst of this friendly smalltalk. He remained alert, but as he was beginning to relax in her prescence, another ebony pelt appeared at the rim of the pool. This one's name was Sinclara. He was, as well as the other too, a dark spot against the pure white flooring, but he was not as intimidating as Sonja was, with her ominous wings. "Hello Sinclara, pleasure to meet you as well." His tone was calm and steady, but there was an inkling of uncertainty inside of him.

Times he wondered what right he had to leading a pack, even one just getting back on it's feet. Especially one just getting back on it's feet. Somehow, he never felt qualified. In his heart, he still considered himself a Beta, the guy every knew and the one the Alpha turned to when he needed advice or support. Yet here he was, an Alpha himself, with his most recent Alpha as his Beta. But they went by different names now. Emperor and Duke barely seemed to cut it.
The slate male found he wandered the badlands openly more than he didn't. Of course, he only ever wandered "openly" never having been much inclined of aware of how to be stealthy. He let Sincarla fulfill that part of the pack description. Though it irked Korso that they had such poor, incorrect advertising. Grey ears flicked forward in his trek to the peaceful lake, the faint chords of voices caught in them. One voice he recognized easily, despite it's softer tones. Sin. The other two... He sighed, scenting the air as a second resource to determine the other two strangers blocked from view yet by trees. Loners? And yet one smelled vaguely familiar in passing. It wouldn't be long before he had his answers.
Breaking tree cover onto a plain of snow and cold water yet to freeze(or perhaps just thawed), he observed the three forms. One of the strangers was winged, this the female he thought e should know. But then, he had never claimed to be good with faces and scents. Rather, his good memory extended toward action and words, not blathering guessing games. At least everyone was still on introductions... He noticed Sin's look and the way the other male responded and guessed the words that had passed between. But by the way this male regarded the winged female, he found her, surprisingly, the more intimidating of the pair.
Korso stood silently off to one side for a moment, comparing his Duke to this female. Large wings, obvious differences were major factors in fear, yes, and her red markings did nothing if not to improve upon her darker tones, yet her eyes did not hold the same menace as Sin's. Oh, the Duke was very much in control, but Korso knew him well enough to catch the flashes. The Emperor was stumped for a moment, trying to decide which he found more menacing. It was amusing, really, from his point of view. But he decided on Sin. Wings he could brush off, red was simply another color size had little to do with it. In the end, what did him in was stoic blackness. Though now that he had concluded this, the thought that they looked matched for each other was too much and he found himself laughing so hard after his intense scrutiny as to have to sit down for fear of falling over.
He tried through bolts of laughter and tears to control himself and, of course, introduce himself despite such a horridly funny first impression. "I am sorry..." he gasped, "I was just...trying to figure...figure which...of you frightened me most. And then...you look so...fitting..." The last sentence crumbled before he could structure it, leaving things missing and others out of place and still others that should have been switch with other words...
But he managed to compose himself, if keep smiling, and nod appropriately low to the gray-brown male and the winged wolfess. "I am Korso. My apologies." He chuckled again with a glance between Sin and this oh so familiar female, afraid he'd actually fall over this time. So speaks the lord of the West
[ooc: Sorry I got carried away. I couldn't pass that up, there in the second half...XD]

Sonja watched the stranger, muscles tense. His eyes narrowed on her and she smirked, and they said wings were useless. Relaxing now, those massive wings hovered down by her sides instead of towering above her. Scenting another wolf, she glanced over in the direction to see a dark black male approaching them. As he nodded so did she, she had never met him before, even though she felt she probably should have. Shrugging that off, she smiled softly.
The cold winter air, scent chills down her spine, making her entire body tremble. Sonja didn't get that good of a winter coat this year, of course every year was bad for her. Her coat was just not meant to be thick. Sighing she shifted her weight, digging her black claws into the earth beneath her. The scent of yet another wolf caught her attention and she turned to see the gray wolf approaching in an array of laughter. Tilting her head in confusion, ears perked forward as he began to speak.
Hearing the gray males words as he managed to get them out, she looked awkwardly at Sin. Ears flicked back a bit, well wasn't this uncomfortable. If she were human, she'd be blushing. Meeting this new male and someone is out telling them they're fitting. Looking away, she forced the emotions back. "Nice to meet you all, i'm Sonja in case there's any of you didn't catch that." she told them. Paws stinging from standing in the snow, shifting her weight uncomfortably, she shook out her fur. Trying to get her mind off it.
