Our Rules & Laws
Welcome to Memento Mori and we are pleased that you have expressed even a mild interest in our roleplay site. A brief description of the forum is that it pertains to the glory of Wolf Roleplaying. Catering to pack wolves, to rejects and loners alike, although each may have a specific set of rules that they must follow. We are first and foremost a community.
This board however will inform you of what is expected of you in general, regardless of your character(s)' status. By following these guidelines it ensures that we can all enjoy one another's company and keep the out of character fighting to a minimal. We are only human so we do not expect all to flow well but we strive to make a harmonious congregation where we can all have fun together.
001 We do expect a level of maturity from every member. This is why we will be allowing profanity but please do not use it excessively. If this becomes a problem it will be discontinued.
002 We use separate accounts for each character here. So one character per account please. When signing up, sign up with your characters name. No names like Sparklewolf555, that's a no no. When you register your accounts, please register with the name of your wolf.
003 Under no circumstances is anyone to impersonate someone else. It is a childish thing to do so save us all the trouble and confusion that it can cause. We want you all to be mature about everything here.
004 The Staff of this site are here to help you so please do not be rude to us. We are a group of people who love what we do as much as you might, and we are in charge. Our final verdicts are not to be discussed unless you have a serious issue with it. Please do not ask to be made staff. We choose our staff based on how active you are, and how well we think you would fit with the current staff. The more you ask, the less likely it is that we will choose you.
005 Flaming is not allowed! We cannot stress this rule enough. The sexual orientation, preferences, ethnicity, ect. of others are not to be denounced for any reason. Harassing or being verbally abusive to another member will not be tolerated and is punishable by account deletion and IP address block.
006 Do not spam the boards with out of character posts unless you are in the board designated for such. We have roleplay boards and we have ooc boards, as well as a C-box so we can all chit-chat, but we would not like to see it on the rp topics.
007 Plagrism is a serious offense. People work hard at what they do whether it be stories or artwork. Anything that you find on this site is not for others to sneakily take and publish as their own. If you would like to use a graphic you must ask the artist or person who put it on the site if it was something they made. This includes concepts, and anything that might be construed as art.
008 There should be no arguing outside of role play. We want this to be enjoyable so don't pick at other people for stupid things like a few grammar mistakes. Yes, we are literate but we're also human so get over it.
009 Max size for Avatars is 135 width, and 200 height. Max width for signatures is 450. Please only have ONE picture in your signature.
011 Post in the away board please if you're going to be absent for an extended period of time. (Say, four to five days or so.)
012 If you make an account, and do not post a character bio within one week of your joining date, your account with be deleted. The same goes for unfinished bios, but we will place your bio in the archives. If you join the site, but for some reason cannot make/finish your bio within the week deadline, please post in the away board to let us know you plan to make a character. If you do decide to do this, you will have two weeks or your account will be deleted.
001 This site is fantasy thus odd colors will be allowed. However, there will not be any outrageous orange wolves with tiger stripes and pink eyes running through the fields. No, none of that.
002 Two characters cannot share the same name on the site. I'm sorry, to avoid confusion staff must be able to establish a name for you, and if there are two people running around with the same name, that's too frustrating. Please check the taken names list to make sure that no one has the name you are using. If you plan to reserve a name, please alert a staff member.
003 We do not allow Mary Sue/Marty Stu characters. Period. If your character is too perfect and flawless, we will ask you to go back and modify. Try to even out your positive and negative traits so that they balance out. If your character is rejected due to this, no need to cry or get mad, the staff will help you out and give you a few pointers.
004 Force breeding is allowed so long as both roleplayers consent to it. Force breeding a female does have consequences. Stress can amount to a she-wolf having a miscarriage. Females in turn can kill the pups themselves or abandon them if they are unable to provide for them or do not want them. It is the sole discretion of the female player whether or not she carries the litter full term.
005 It is very possible for female wolves who are not within a pack to be kidnapped and force bred by males. Although it is solely up to the roleplayers if the female's struggles win out the male's persistence but in most cases they are not likely to escape a healthy adult. But again, it is up to the victim. Females who are bred by force can be driven into their abusers territory and held hostage and may escape or be released. This rule does not only limit it to lone female but pack females are also targets if they wish to be.
006 To contend for a high rank is possible. Knocking an alpha out of the running is not unheard of but you must be aware that these high levels did not get to their positions by smarts alone. Fighting a high ranking wolf is potentially fatal to your character. If you are defeated in an official fight between a dominant wolf then you are at the mercy of your opponent. Please be advised! This does not mean you are able to be killed, it is up to you whether this can happen or not but taking a great deal of damage can get you evicted from the pack if the Alpha supports the decision. Also, if your wolf is defeated in a fight they will walk away with a significant injury that they will carry for one, real time week before fully healing. Unless of course your wolf knows/is a healer.
007 Creativity is key to success both in life as well as in role play. Try to make yourself unique from everyone, understandably this is a hard task, but don't make characters with the same prerogative. Ex. Male/Female characters bent on global take over or Male/Female looking for revenge and only stops when he/she finds love. Sure there can be characters like this but not all please.
001 Here on Psychosis we are Semi-Literate to Advanced. So there is no limit to how long your posts can br. We do however, have a posting minimum. Your posts must be at least 200 words. Now, 200 words may sound like a lot, but one good paragraphs is usually 200 words. A paragraph is at least 8 sentences long, excluding dialogue (talking, etc).
002 Good grammar and spelling is important when posting, if your post is totally unreadable, it will be deleted and you will have to start over. This shouldn't be a problem though since proboards has a built in spell check, as do most browsers.
003 Stay in posting order, do not skip people. This will result in a warning, you get two warnings, and if it happens again after that, you will receive a one day ban.
004 Liquid-time refers to the amount of boards any given character can be in at one time. Due to recent experiences we've added a new limit to the liquid time. You can only have up to four threads per character going at a time. Please don't argue that you can handle more, there is no changing this rule. If you want to start a new thread when you already have four going, you must finish a current thread.
005In thread ONE: Juju and Red and playing, and are both happy and healthy.
Thread TWO: Blue, and Red are fighting, Blue injures Red's leg.
Back in thread ONE: Red stops playing suddenly because his leg hurts, and can't play anymore.
This is bad. Don't do it.
God-moding is not allowed, in any form. This includes, meta-gaming, Power-playing and auto-hitting. There will be cases where your characters will fight one another, this much is certain. But there will be rules on how a winner will be determined. You will find this information in another topic. Look below for examples.
Meta-Gaming: Using out-of-game information, or resources, to affect one's in-game decisions.Thread One: Red and Blue are plotting to attack Juju.
Thread Two: Juju knows about a plot to hurt him, and decides to stay home safely.
Thread One: Red and Blue are stumped because they hadn't told anyone of their plans.
This is an example of Meta-gaming.
God-Modding:God-Modding: When you say your charrie is all-powerful or make them do things impossible, like surviving an assault against a thousand wolves or surviving a bullet to the brain. They are not perfect; and it's ok to lose fights sometimes. Saying your wolf is larger or stronger than the other wolf is not ok, though it can be forgiven if that's just how your character thinks.
Auto-Hitting: When you decide whether an attack on another wolf hits or not. It's solely up to the person Roleplaying the attacked charater whether they got hit or not.EX: Blue lashed out at Red, fangs sinking into her neck.
EX: Juju grabbed a hold on Blue's tail, ripping off some of the fur.
This is an example of Auto-Hitting.
Powerplaying: Where you take control of another's character, by accident or design. Often it involves shoving others to the ground, but it includes anything that says the other person's character has done something.EX: Blue leapt at Juju, knocking him to the ground.
EX: Juju pushed Red out of the way, rushing past in a flurry of white fur.
006 If you have gotten permission to use powerplay from another character, please put a note in your post that you were given said permission. Not doing so could cause confusion for the staff, which could lead to accidental warnings.
007 When titling a thread, please put the name of the character you are posting for in the thread name. If the thread is open, state that it is open. If we do not know who you are posting to / for, We will ask, and make you fix it. Yes, YOU MUST title your threads like this.
Example:
This is my thread.{Open}
This is my thread//open
This is my thread.(Open)
This is my thread.[Open]
This is my thread.>Open<
This is my thread.{Insertname(s)here}
When you have finished a thread, the author of the thread, the first poster, MUST edit the title of the first post to look like this:
Example:
This is my thread.{Closed}
This is my thread//Closed
This is my thread.(Closed)
This is my thread.[Closed]
This is my thread.>Closed<
001 If you happen to gain and Alpha, or Beta Rank, or are currently holding an alpha, or beta rank. You MUST be active! If you are an alpha, and you haven't logged into your account in 7 days, you are suspended from your rank, and your betas will be granted temporary Alpha powers. If your betas already have an alpha rank on this site, your rank will be forfeit and you might not get it back. Betas you have two weeks before you forfeit your rank, and the admins may choose someone to replace you.
002 You may only hold up to two high ranks. Which can mean One Alpha character, and one Beta position. You may also have two Beta accounts, and no Alpha. You also may not hold two High Ranks in the same pack. The two high ranked characters must be in separate packs.
